After getting just 3 hours sleep the previous night, and driving just over 40 miles from Cala Millor Majorca to Palma in early hours, after spending a near week in Majorca. I managed to get to Blackfield after being delayed in Palma for one hour, and taking over one hour to get to M3 from Gatwick. This is the reason for the delay of the pictures on this ssite.
Blackfield had 2 half chances early on, but Melksham took the lead on 11 minutes from Jon Davis shot. Blackfield Lerone Plummer takes a feeble shot for goal straight to Melksham keeper Darren Behcet, but manages to make it later in the first half. (Pictures out of focus). The goal came on 21 minutes, and Plummer got past Melksham Behcet having an open goal. Melksham thought they were about to go 2-1 ahead on 32 minutes, but the linesman ruled otherwise. Blackfield were lucky to go in at half time 1-1, and passing not brilliant in first half. I feel Melksham were the slightly better side of the first half.
On 49 minutes Melksham were awarded a penalty and striker Jon Davies took the shot, and Blackfield keeper Lewis Notice dived to his left and saved the Davis shot. Blackfield had more chances in the second half and went 2-1 ahead on 2-1 ahead on 67 minutes with Fatah Makhloufi scoring and finished the game on 69 minutes with Ollie Balmer scoring. I feel Melksham played better than their travelling fans said, as Melksham could not win the final third of the field, with Blackfield again stronger in defence.
On a sad downside. He Sports Bat and Blackfield Clubhouse was badly damaged by flood water, and Gang Warrily community centre will do all necessary repairs. The Club House had moved outside in a temporary marquee.
