The first visable phase of the Didcot Power Station Oxfordshire with 3 of the water cooling towers being blown up, just before dawn on Sunday 27th July 2014. Completion is due in 2016 . A truly iconic land mark in Oxfordshire starts to come down, and 43 years of generating power for the National Grid ceased in March 2013. Demolition finally took place at 5am.
